What is the best restaurant to try for Philly's Restaurant Week? ?

We go every year and are trying to do someplace different every year. We've already done El Vez (delish), and Ruth's Chris (also good), and Swanky Buddles (Love it!). There were others, but I can't remember. Here is the list of restaurants. HELP!

It鈥檚 that time again, Restaurant Week It's time to celebrate something about our city that continues to draw national attention.

Last year I tried Pompei (Italian), Cuba Libre (Cuban) and Estia (Greek)and the food at all of them was really good!

I am planning on trying Tangerine (Mediterranean), Zot (Belgian) and Patou (French).

By now, of course, seasoned veterans likely have seized most, if not all, of the reservations at Philly鈥檚 latest hot spots, so be prepared to lower your expectations somewhat. However, it never hurts to call some of these places to capitalize on any last minute cancellations.

Even if you can't get any reservations, you may still be able take advantage of Restaurant Week. Look for participating restaurants that have bars or counters, such as Washington Square and The Oceanaire, and eat from the Restaurant Week menu at the bar.

I want you to know that you should have booked for restaurant week two months ago. PLEASE do not get upset with the restaurants if you can not get a decent reservation time, because you slacked. Also ask if they are extending Restaurant Week another week. Some places will do that if their waitlist gets crazy long. I know Xochitl it going until the 24th. BUT... the parking vouchers will not be extended.

I do however reccomend:

Xochitl (pronounced so-cheet %26amp; voted best of Philly 2008 Mexican Restaurant)

Tinto

Amada

Alfa

My husband, m-i-l and I love the crab cakes at Devon.

Our friends love Fork and celebrate every anniversary there.

Nobody I know has ever been unhappy with anything they ate at Marathon.

All that said, I would go to one of the more expensive places (like Fork) because of the awesome discount. You can go to Marathon any time.
