HELP! Eating out vegetarian?

I'm going to Ruth's Chris Steak House this weekend for my grandma's birthday, and I have no clue what to get. I've been looking at their menu online, but there aren't that many vegetarian friendly options since it is a steakhouse http://www.ruthchris.com/Menu/Salads-and鈥?/a> Their vegetarian option is three side items. I'm very calorie and health conscious, so that also plays a factor when deciding what to get. I'm thinking about getting the Steak House Salad, Fresh Asparagus (If I can get the sauce on the side), and a Baked Potato without all the crap on it. Does this sound okay? What would you get?

On a side note: What does asparagus taste like? I like broccoli, cauliflower, peas, green beans, lima beans, corn, carrots, peppers, and onions if that makes any difference.HELP! Eating out vegetarian?
The options you mention will be delicious. The restaurant's menu site does not mention how the asparagus is prepared. In most upscale places it is grilled or steamed. Both are excellent choices but slightly different in texture. The taste of asparagus is unique. It is a bit surprising that you haven't tasted it as it is called "The king of vegetables" and has a long history. You will soon be hooked:

You might want to pass on the Hollandaise sauce as it is made with egg yolk and butter:

Asparagus has an interesting ettiquette rule:

Most etiquette books say that you can eat whole asparagus spears, without a sauce, by picking up with your hand. However, if you do this at a restaurant or dinner party, you will draw strange glances. Be safe and use your knife and fork to cut and eat them.

* Don't be alarmed if you smell a unique odor in your urine after eating asparagus...it's normal:

I have read many, many posts from vegetarians/vegans and to be honest, sounds like you folks are in perpetual distress mode.

It must be depressing to be vegetarian. Seriously.HELP! Eating out vegetarian?
Asparagus is really wonderful, I have it all the time. As far as the sauce if you are a vegetarian that uses eggs and dairy, there is no reason not to have the sauce. Same with the baked potato, if you use butter and sour cream.

It depends on if you are vegan or vegetarian.
